Lensectomy surgery consists of replacing the crystalline lens (the lens that we all have inside our eye) with an artificial intraocular lens.

This procedure consists of the simultaneous correction of all visual defects (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia).

The characteristics of the artificial intraocular lens are calculated on the basis of numerous preoperative tests (laser biometry, topography, pupillometry, aberrometry) that allow the choice of lens to be personalized based on the unique characteristics of each eye.

Lensectomy surgery with modern minimally invasive techniques consists of removing the crystalline lens and replacing it with a transparent artificial intraocular lens. The procedure lasts a few minutes. Anesthesia is generally administered via eye drops, only in the most complex cases can a small injection be performed near the eye.

The surgical interventions are performed at the headquarters of the Istituto Auxologico Italiano "Capitanio" in Via Mercalli 28 - 20122 Milan
